Commercial Property Secretarial Paralegal

Full time. Office based at our Leigh office.

We are seeking a detail-orientated and proactive secretarial paralegal to join our commercial
team. This hybrid role combines traditional secretarial support with paralegal responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, comfortable managing multiple priorities and
keen to contribute to both the administrative and legal needs of our firm. The successful
candidate will assist our fee earners in managing primarily commercial property transactions
along with certain non-contentious employment matters.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Providing administrative support to fee earners, including scheduling appointments,
providing quotes, opening and closing of files, scheduling deeds, file management,
typing dictations and ordering searches.
• Answering phone calls and responding to enquiries.
• Working alongside fee earners to assist with their file progression.
• Drafting correspondence and documents.
• Conducting legal research.
• Communication with clients.
• Preparation of completion statements.
• Preparation of applications to the Land Registry.
• Preparation and submission of stamp duty land tax / land transaction tax returns.
• Registration of legal charges at Companies House.

Experience:
• Strong experience as a paralegal is essential, and experience as a commercial property
paralegal desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems.
• Strong writing, multitasking and communication skills.
• Highly organised with strong time management skills.
As part of our commercial property team, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse
range of transactions. There are opportunities available for development and progression with
the potential for the ideal candidate to run their own files, dependent upon experience.

Training and support will be given to the successful candidate.

Full or Part-Time Legal Secretary (Private Client)

Role: Legal Secretary – Private Client Department

Location: Leigh & Newton-le-Willows office

Key responsibilities:

•    Provide secretary/PA support to solicitors in the Private Client department (wills, trusts, probate) — Dootsons is active in private client work.

•    Prepare documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney), correspondence and court forms.

•    Manage diaries and arrange meetings

•    Liaise with clients, book appointments, provide updates.

•    File and archive client files in accordance with firm procedures.

Skills/requirements:

•    Previous legal secretary experience, ideally in private client work (wills, probate).

•    Good typing/document drafting skills, accuracy with legal terminology.

•    Strong organisational skills, able to work with multiple solicitors.

•    Discretion, confidentiality, professionalism.

Hours & contract type: Full or Part-time (3 days/week or flexible hours)
